As we are working hard to change the status quo when it comes to carbon emissions, we welcomed 11 representatives of our partners for a two-week Hysopt Bootcamp.
Getting our partners ready
We believe it’s our duty to increase the understanding of hydronics with building services engineers. We are already contributing to this by offering the Hysopt e-Academy: “Mastering heating and cooling hydraulics”. But by introducing the Hysopt Bootcamp, we are now expanding our Hysopt Academy activities with a more intense software training program directed at graduates, engineers, and other beginner level Hysopt Software users.
“Hysopt aims to help our partners in becoming familiar with the Hysopt Optimisation Optimalisation Software. Thus, it’s important we enable them to successfully use the software during their different scopes of work.” Says Dennis De Beuckeleer, Hysopt Engineer and teacher during the Bootcamp. “The Bootcamp included a deep dive into the software to be able to get to work with different types of HVAC optimisations.”

By working with the Hysopt software, our partners create the opportunity to build installations in a VIRTUAL environment before building them in a REAL environment. This offers them the chance to objectify the design process and challenges the designer to get the most out of every installation.
Participants of the first 2022 Bootcamp represented a wide range of international partner companies, from equipment manufacturers to M&E consultants. We invested sufficiently into the all-around experience, instead of just learning to get along with the Hysopt Optimisation Software.
The program
The aim of the program? Getting participants ready to start building intermediate level Hysopt models. Throughout a two-week course, the participants learned all about conceptual optimisation, pareto analysis, sensitivity analysis, detailed design and component selection, imposed load simulation and reverse engineering… accompanied by different real-world case studies. And off course, there was also time for fun, drinks, and laughter during the Bootcamp BBQ at our Hysopt HQ office in Antwerp!

But the proof of the pudding is off course in the eating, so we’ve ended the Bootcamp with a series of closing presentations made by every participant. We couldn’t be prouder with the results! “I got to witness all presentations this morning, and I was blown away with the level they have achieved in only two weeks’ time! I felt a lot of enthusiasm and HVAC passion in the air…the birth of the Hysopt user community!” – Roel Vandenbulcke, Founder & CEO at Hysopt.
To be continued…
So overall this first edition couldn’t have gone better. From the impressive results all participants achieved, but more important…their positive feedback!
“I have been fortunate enough to spend the last two weeks in Antwerp, Belgium, taking part in Hysopt’s first ever ‘Bootcamp. For me, the software is invaluable when it comes to ensuring heating & cooling systems are not only connected correctly hydraulically but are sized correctly utilising the lowest supply temperature possible. I am looking forward to further implementing the Hysopt software into current and future projects to minimise our Clients Energy consumption and reduce their running costs through improved system efficiency.” – Craig Lister, EQUANS
We are happy to share some more experiences of our 2022 participants during the upcoming weeks!
The details of a future edition haven’t been set in stone yet, but the excitement for a new Q1 2023 Bootcamp is big! Keep an eye on our socials to stay informed and be the first one to find out as soon as more information is available!
